A Guide on How to Cancel a Currys Order in 2019

Currys is a British retailer of electronics and appliances. It is part of the Dixons Carphone group, operating joint stores with the computer specialists PC World. Their returns policy can be restrictive, so you should cancel your order as quickly as possible if you change your mind or realize that you made a mistake. After they dispatch an order, you will have to return it for a refund instead. This guide will show you what to do.

Cancel by Telephone

1) Call Currys on 0344 561 1234 as soon as possible to cancel your order. If you have not received an order confirmation e-mail about Currys dispatching your items, then it may not be too late. Press 4 to proceed and then press 3 if you placed the order online or over the phone. You will then have to press 1 if the order contained a large item like a fridge or television, or press 2 if it was for something smaller like a laptop or camera. It will connect you to a colleague at Currys customer support who should be able to help you out.

2) You need to tell them your order number so that they can find it and cancel it for you. They may also ask for your name, address, and contact details to confirm that it was you who placed the order. You can select complete cancellation for a refund, or request an exchange for another item. If this is possible, they expect you to pay for any difference in price for the new item. You might have to just place a new order separately.

3) If Currys is already in the process of dispatching your order by the time that you contact them, then they will not be able to cancel it for you. Instead, you will have to wait for the delivery. You can refuse to accept the delivery so that they have to take it back, or you can accept the delivery and then return it yourself and get a refund. You will have 21 days to return orders, or 14 days if you open the packaging to inspect an item.

Cancel Online

If you ordered online, then you should be able to view your orders in your account when you sign in. If you are able to cancel it, there should be this option next to the order. If not, you will be able to track the order after it has been dispatched. You should contact Currys if there is no cancel option but it is still processing.

You can e-mail Currys at customer.services@currys.co.uk with the order number as the subject and the details of your order in the e-mail. Explain that you need to cancel this order and whether you would like something else in exchange or just a refund for it. They will reply to you as soon as they can. However, it is possible that they will not get to your e-mail before they dispatch your order. For this reason, it would be better for you to call them as above. It is much more likely that you will catch the order in time to cancel it.

Cancel by Post

The postal address for Currys is simply Currys, PO Box 1687, Sheffield, S2 5YA. However, this is not their returns address. You can use this address if you wish to write a letter regarding the handling of your cancellation, such as a complaint. If you receive your delivery and you are not able to return the order instore, then you should call to arrange a free collection. They will issue a refund, including the delivery charge, within 5 working days. Please note that you will need to return items in their original packaging.
