Is Kindle Unlimited not cutting it for you anymore? Whether you just don’t have the time for reading or don’t enjoy the selection on offer, you can cancel your Kindle Unlimited at any time. Here is how to do it.
Cancel by Telephone
1. Call 0800 279 7234 to contact the Kindle Support team. The answering service will give you four options to choose from. Press 4 for “questions about Kindle books, subscriptions, and all other issues.” It will give you some pre-recorded advice, but if you hold the line then it will transfer you to the Kindle Support team.
2. To discuss your subscriptions, you will need to verify your account details. This usually means providing your name, e-mail address, contact number, and address associated with your account. Instruct the team member to cancel your Kindle Unlimited subscription. You don’t need to provide a reason, even if they ask. If you paid your first subscription fee but changed your mind within 14 days then you can request a refund.
3. They will tell you when your Kindle Unlimited membership end date will be. Your books will be available until this date. It will normally be the due date for the next billing period. Make sure to cancel before this date to avoid being charged and continuing your subscription for another month. The same goes for using the free trial – you should cancel before it expires. If not, you may still be able to get a refund if you forget to cancel the subscription before the free trial ends. Say that you didn’t receive a reminder about it ending.
To view and manage your Kindle Unlimited membership, go to the quick link amazon.co.uk/kucentral. If you are not already logged into your Amazon account, you’ll need to do so before you can access this page. Otherwise, you can go the long way and hover over “Your Account” in the top right corner until the drop-down menu appears, click on “Memberships & Subscriptions,” then click on the Kindle Unlimited icon.
Once you arrive at the page above, you can view your books, and your billing and payment information is displayed to the left with management options. Click on the “Cancel Kindle Unlimited Membership” link.
Amazon will give you a chance to reconsider and continue your membership. If you are sure, then click the button to end your Kindle Unlimited membership. Remember that it will only end on the next billing date.
When you cancel, you will go back to the Kindle Unlimited homepage and see a new sidebar. This will show you when your access will end and you can no longer read your books. You have the option to resume your subscription by pressing the “Continue Membership” button at any time until the actual cancellation date.
Cancel by Post
Cancelling your Kindle Unlimited subscription by post isn’t the most convenient option. Considering it is a digital service, it is much easier to manage it digitally. If you do want to write a letter to Amazon to cancel Kindle Unlimited, you should include all the details of your Amazon account and subscription and send the letter to Amazon by signed-for delivery. The registered office for the European branch, Amazon EU SARL, is in Luxembourg, but their local registered branch for the UK is in London. You can write to this address:
