Sometimes plans do change or things go awry, so you can no longer use a hotel booking. If you now need to cancel your stay at a Premier Inn, this guide will show you how. Follow these steps to cancel a booking.
Cancel by Telephone
1. Call 0333 003 0025 to speak to the Premier Inn Guest Relations team. Press 3 during the first round of automated options to cancel or amend your stay. Then you can press 2 to amend a reservation or 3 to cancel one. If you made a Flexible booking, then you can change your arrival date, the number of rooms and guests, and meal options. Unfortunately, you cannot amend Saver bookings, you can only cancel.
2. You must call before 1pm on the arrival date whether you are cancelling or amending. If you booked the Flexible rate and cancel after 1pm, Premier Inn will charge you for the first night of your intended stay. When you book the Saver rate, you agree that it is non-refundable. Therefore, when you cancel, you will not get your money back. At a push, they may allow you to let someone else attend to use your booking.
3. If you want to cancel the final night of your booking, you must do so before 12 noon on the new day of departure. Again, this is only possible for Flexible bookings. Saver bookings can’t be changed. When you cancel, Premier Inn will provide a cancellation reference number. They should send a confirmation e-mail so you have proof that your reservation has been cancelled. Your refund can take several days to get to you.
If you booked online, the easiest cancellation method is also to use the Premier Inn website. Look in the top right corner and click the “Manage Bookings” button. A pop-up will give you three options. Log into your My Premier Inn account, or sign up for one if you haven’t already. If you just want to manage your booking quickly without having to log in, then choose the “Find a booking” button to amend or cancel.
This will take you to the page below, which will again give you the option to log in or register. Otherwise, you can just enter the requested details and hit the “Search” button. You will need the reference number, the surname of the lead booker or a listed guest, and the arrival date. If you enter valid details, the booking should come up in the search. You can then select to cancel the reservation or make possible amendments.
After you have done this, the screen should display a message confirming your changes. If you cancelled it will tell you your cancellation reference number and if there is a successful refund. You should receive this information in a follow-up e-mail from Premier Inn as well. Cancel by Post
Cancelling by post would be a last resort, as it would take much longer and you couldn’t guarantee that it would go through in time. Premier Inn might still need to contact you to confirm the request before they can action it. For this reason, it is better to cancel online or cancel over the phone if you are unable to use the website.
