Thomson was the previous name of the holiday provider that now goes by TUI. If you book a holiday with Thomson, then you are booking with TUI. So if you want to cancel a Thomson holiday, then you also have to cancel with TUI. Follow the guide below to find out how to cancel and how much cancellation will cost.
Calls cost 7p per minute plus your standard network charge.
Please ensure you have the bill payers permission before contacting a company on our website.
This website provides hard to find phone numbers as a call connection service, and is not associated with the companies listed.
Cancel by Telephone
1) To cancel your Thomson holiday booking, call TUI on 0844 381 0833. This will connect you to the line which gives you some numbered options. Press 2 for amendments to existing bookings, which includes cancellations. Then press 6 from the next list to proceed with the call and speak to a Thomson advisor.
2) You will need to provide your Thomson holiday booking reference number, as well as the details of the passengers in the booking. Usually, you will only be able to make changes if you are the lead booker. You should check the cancellation charges and alternative options before you ask them to cancel everything.
3) Thomson or TUI will tell you how much you still have to pay and how much you can get as a refund, if anything. You might be able to save some money if you can change the names on the booking for lower amendment fees and transfer the holiday to somebody else. This all also depends on whether you had travel insurance which would cover the circumstances. Otherwise, you will simply have to pay to cancel.
Go to the TUI website and log into your account to manage your booking. There should be options to add or remove parts of the booking, and instructions on how to cancel completely and what it will cost to do this.
If you purchased a TUI Travel Insurance policy and want to make a claim, then you will have to do that through the insurance department. You can also check the cancellation costs online according to their guide. You need to know how many days are left before your departure date to check the percentages.
This information would also have been in the terms and conditions, which you agreed to when you made the booking. You should also check amendment fees to find out whether it would be cheaper to transfer.
Cancel by Post
It is better to speak to Thomson/TUI online or over the phone, as you should have a faster resolution. If you would like to cancel a Thomson holiday by post, you need to consider mailing times. You may end up paying more than you would have if you had cancelled directly, as they will only take your notice of the cancellation from the date that they receive the letter, not the date that you wrote or sent it. However, if you do want to write a letter to Thomson/TUI, then you can do so by posting it securely to this address:
