Weight Watchers, which is currently rebranding to WW, is a company offering weight loss products and services. If you decide to cancel your Weight Watchers subscription after joining, this will show you how.
Cancel by Telephone
1. The fastest method of cancelling a Weight Watchers subscription is to phone them on 0345 345 1500. Calling this number will connect you to the first available customer service adviser at Weight Watchers. There is no automated service requiring you to press numbers, but you may have to wait on hold a while.
2. Explain that you wish to cancel your subscription and provide your name and membership number. It might also be necessary to provide other details for security reasons. If you are cancelling within 14 days, you can request a refund. After 14 days, Weight Watchers will not refund any fees you have already paid.
3. Weight Watchers subscriptions roll on a monthly basis, so if you cancel in the second half of a month then they may have already billed you for the next month. Your cancellation will not be effective until the renewal date in the next month instead. They might deduct an administration fee of £5 from any refunds.
You are only able to cancel your subscription online if it is within the cooling-off period. If you decide to cancel after this 14-day period, you must call customer services to do it. Coaches at meetings and online coaches are not able to cancel subscriptions. If you want to cancel your subscription through your online account, visit the Weight Watchers website at weightwatchers.com/uk and click on the “Log In” button.
This will take you to the log-in page, where you must enter your username and password to gain access to your account. You can also click to view the terms and conditions and check their cancellation policy first.
Once you log in, you can view your membership details. Click on your initials to the top right, then go into Settings. Scroll down and enter your password in the “Unlock” box, clicking to unlock it. If you hover over “Plan Information” in the “Account Status” section, an orange button will appear. Click “Edit” to either switch your plan type or cancel your subscription altogether. If you have any problems with this, click on the hot pink speech bubble in the bottom left corner. This will launch a live chat window so that you can get assistance from a Weight Watchers advisor. They should be able to cancel your subscription for you.
If the live chat or cancelling online yourself isn’t working for you, then you can send an e-mail instead. It only applies to customers cancelling within 14 days of subscribing. E-mail your cancellation request with your name, address, membership number, and reason to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can request a refund at the same time if you have not activated your access code yet, or if you meet the terms of their Satisfaction Guarantee. Usually, you will have had to be a fully participating member for those two weeks.
Cancel by Post
If you would prefer to cancel by post, you can terminate your subscription that way. Again, this is only for customers who are cancelling during the cooling-off period. After 14 days, your cancellation notice won’t be valid and you must phone customer services to sort things out. Your cancellation letter should include all of the information listed above for a cancellation e-mail. You should also sign and date it, and send it using a recorded delivery method for proof. Make sure you send your notice with enough time for Weight Watchers to process it before they bill you for the next month of your plan.
